Mrs. Peggy Sue Kent, age 68 of Morganton, GA, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Kent was born Tuesday, October 15, 1940 in Cherokee County Georgia to Willis Ruben Thomas and Edna Botts Thomas. A member of Morganton Baptist Church, retired from Fannin County Commissioners Office, She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Ruben Thomas.
Survivors include: husband, James H. Kent, mother, Edna Botts Thomas of Fannin County, daughter, Sally Kent of Nashville, sister, Joyce Speakes of Clayton County, sister, Darlene Ledford of Fannin County,Diane Thomas of Fannin County, brother, Haskell Thomas of Henry County, brother, Junior Thomas of Fannin County, brother, David Thomas of Clayton County, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 21, 2008 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Grady Ray and Reverend Allen McCellan officating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Ned Welch, Bobby Collier, Chris Thomas, Jeff Thomas, Greg Thomas, David Michael Thomas. Honorary pallbearers include: Ken Stevens, Terry Boyd and Terry Ledford.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, December 20 from 6-9 PM and Sunday December 21, 9:00Am-1:30 PM.
