Robert Loyd (Bob) Swint, age 79 of Murphy, NC, NC, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010.
Bob was born in Haralson Co., GA to the late Chester A. and Ida Williams Swint. He was a member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church. Bob retired as Cost Accountant for Coats American where he had worked for 45 years. He enjoyed making fudge and divinity candy to take to the people in his office. He enjoyed working in the woods and also dowsing for water and finding it for 48 people over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jacqueline; 3 daughters, Sylvia Boheler and husband Ross of Clover, SC, Joan Mintz and husband Steve of Andrews, NC, Susan Loggins and husband Randy of Kernersville, NC, one son, Steven and wife Jennifer of Beaverton, OR, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Kerry Loyd Swint in 2005..
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 30 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Dr. Chester Jones, Rev. Craig Mintz and Rev. Melanie Walk officiating. Music will be provided by Melanie Walk and Ramona Hendrix. Pallbearers will be Jim Hendrix, Gerald Reese, Jack Postell, Jack Lewis, Jody Lee, Chris Walk, Steve Mintz and Jason Swint. Interment will follow in Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 30th from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m.
