Robert Nicholas Mathews

Robert Nicholas Mathews, age 88 of Marble, passed away May 31, 2012 at his home. Robert was born April 5, 1924 in Kenton County, KY to the late Robert Mathews, Sr. and Fannie Mae Collins. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Mathews, and Raymond Buchanan. Robert worked for Packard as a mechanic, he also worked as a contractor, carpenter and a furniture maker. He was married to his loving wife Lorrine for 20 years; loved Nascar, motorcycles and old cars. He was a member of the Masons and he was loved by everyone who knew him, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include: wife, Blanche Lorrine Mathews, daughter, Linda (Bill) Patten, son, Victor Buchanan, son, Steve Buchanan, daughter, Linda (Ronnie) Johnson, daughter, Patty (Glen) Pickering, son, Jerry (Doris) Buchanan, daughter, Melinda (James) Bagwell, daughter, Phyllis Buchanan, daughter, Ruth (Robert) McClenithan, step-brother, Marion Clyne Haney, 29 Grandchildren and 30 Great-Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home with the Reverend George Polacke officiating.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, Saturday, June 09, 2012 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
