Ruth M. Baker

Ruth Morgan Baker, age 86 of Murphy, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Clay County Care Center in Hayesville. She was born January 30, 1926 in Clay Co., North Carolina to the late Rev. Roscoe Morgan and the late Dora Deavers Morgan . Ruth was an avid quilter. She was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death by an Infant son William Oliver Baker, daughter, Ora Bell Baker, Great Grandson Nathan Dillard, and also one sister and four brothers.

Survivors include: husband of 70 years, Lloyd Baker Sr., son, Lloyd Baker Jr., son, Jimmy Baker & wife Sallie, son, Lawerence Allen Baker & wife Elizabeth, daughter, Wanda Baker Hendry & husband Sid Hendry, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren.

Funeral services: Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Sid Hendry, Greg Mimbs, Scott Revell, Bryan Holloway, Nathan Pritchard, Jimmy Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers: Scott Dillard and Aaron Klopfer.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy, Saturday, February 25, 2012 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
