Ruth Marie Pirhadi (Riordan), age 44, of Norfolk, VA passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
She was born Ruth Marie Riordan, January 16, 1977 in Adrian, Michigan
and graduated from Onsted High School in 1995. She spent 4 years in the US Navy where she achieved first female onboard to qualify for Helmsman on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. She went on to graduate from Great Lakes Maritime Academy and then worked as a Merchant Marine with Military Sealift Command.
Ruth, along her husband, Nathan, loved the sea and traveling by ship. One of her favorite places is Marathi Beach in Greece.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Nathan Pirhadi of Norfolk, VA; her father, William Riordan III of Manitou Beach, MI; her mother, Teresa “Terry” Riordan of Lady Lake, FL; siblings: William (Suzanne) Riordan of Portland, OR; Sara Riordan of Adrian, MI; David (Kathleen) Riordan of Rock Island, TN; Tammy (Nathan) Holloway of Blue Ridge, GA; her 2 nieces, Olivia and Helena Riordan, nephew Eian Holloway and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Teresa.
Per her wish, cremation has taken place.
