Mr. Scotty Lee Wood, Sr. age 71 , of Dalton, GA, passed away Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, GA. Mr. Wood was born April 11th, 1939 in Dalton to the late Earnest Lamar and Lautrell Scott Wood. He lived most of his adult life in Dalton, where he owned and operated a retail carpet business. Mr. Wood had been preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norene Wood Clements and a brother, Earnest Lamar Wood, Jr.
Surviving family members include a daughter, Kim Czyz, of Dalton; a son and daughter-in-law, Scotty Lee Wood, Jr., and Cheryl Wood, of Resaca, Georgia; and son, Dakota Lee Wood, of Fayetteville, Georgia; five grandchildren: Rhett Smith and wife, Abbi, of Ringgold, Georgia; Blake Wood, Rachel Czyz, Ryan Czyz, and Aidan Sandoval, all of Dalton; numerous cousins also survive.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.
