Shirley Ann Nave

Mrs. Shirley Ann Nave, age 68 of Murphy, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Nave was born March 15, 1946 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late William Cole and the late Margie Morrow Cole. A member of the Second Baptist Church of Murphy, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roy "Snook" Cole. Shirley worked in banking as a loan processor for over 25 years. She enjoyed camping and water skiing but most of all she loved caring for her grandchildren.

Survivors include husband, Paul Luther "Luke" Nave, Jr., two daughters, Heather Nave and Stephanie Nave-Kerley and husband Ray, one sister, Wanda Cole, two brothers, George "Sonny" Cole and wife Ealane and David Cole, four grandchildren, Luke Price, Elizabeth Nave, Elijah Kerley and Madilyn Kerley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Murphy, Rev. Eddis Dockery and Rev. Scott Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Zachary Amos, Trevor Sutton, Spencer Sutton, Tristen Sutton, Troy Phillips and Johnny Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Coxwell, Kenneth Enloe, Lorne Kerley, James Dockery, Don Stiles, and Jerry Johnson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-2 pm on Saturday before the service.
