Shirley Marie Newton (Gibbs)

Shirley Gibbs Newton, age 74 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Blue Ridge Health Care. She was born December 23, 1938 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Jayce Gibbs and Delma White Gibbs. She was a member of Hot House Baptist Church and had retired from Levi Strauss in Blue Ridge.She was preceded in death husband, Clyde Newton, Brothers, Wendell Gibbs and Cecil Gibbs.

Survivors include: son, Clyde Anthony (Audra) Newton, daughter, Sandee (Shane) Bingham, son, James M. (Theresa) Newton, sisters, Barbara Pitman and Linda Smith, Brothers, Jerry Gibbs, George Gibbs, Thomas Gibbs and Dwight Gibbs, grandchildren, Andrew Newton, Andrea Newton, Marlee Bingham and James Michael Newton II.

Funeral services: Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Queen officiating. Internment will follow at the Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Monday, August 12, 2013 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
