Sue Roach (Moore)

Sue Moore Roach, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18th, at Life Care Center of Collegedale, TN. She was born in Canton, GA, on December 2, 1914. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Elijah Roach, her parents, Robert Keller Moore and Mary Annie Elliott Moore, her brother, Robert Keller Moore, Jr., and his wife, Catherine Herbert Moore.
Sue was a lovely lady, gracious and filled with the love of Jesus. She was a blessing to her family and her many friends. Her home was in Copperhill, TN, for many years. She was an active member of McCaysville First Baptist Church and served her Lord there as a Sunday School teacher and was active in WMU and the Heritage Room. She loved flowers and was active in the Iris Garden Club. After retirement, she and Bill lived on a farm near Murphy, NC, for almost 20 years.
Sue is survived by two children, Patricia Roach Christian and her husband Charles Edwin Christian of Ooltewah, TN, and John Keller Roach and his wife Martha Hansard Roach of Hendersonville, NC. Grandchildren include Denise Christian Hamby of Ooltewah, TN, Mike Edwin Christian and his wife, Leslie Wilson Christian of Cleveland, TN, Sharon Roach Ely and her husband, Abraham Cecil Ely, of Rogersville, TN, Elaine Christina Hill and her husband, Caleb Andrew Hill of Mt. Ulla, NC, and Laura Catherine Roach of Santa Fe, NM.
Great-grandchildren include Christina Nicole Holder Lewis and her husband, Brent Anthony Lewis, of Irmo, SC, Aaron Christian Hamby, Rebecca Michelle Hamby, Jacob David Hamby and Zachary Joshua Hamby of Ooltewah, TN, Miles Elijah Christian and Charles Kent Christian of Cleveland, TN, Giovanni Dominic Bonanno, Anna Catherine Ely, Joseph Ford Ely, and William Keller Ely of Rogersville, TN.
She will be missed by three special nieces Sue Stickland, Pam Oesch and Robin Howells and their families.
We are thankful for the loving, caring staff at Life Care Center of Collegedale TN, and previously at Hickory Valley Retirement Center in Chattanooga, TN.
Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA, is assisting her family. The family will receive visitors at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 20th, at the funeral home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Internment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Copperhill, TN.
