James Willard Dills, age 88 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Union County Nursing Home. Mr. Dills was born November 19, 1920 in Fannin County, GA the son of the late Sylvester and Arvie Brackett Dills. He was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. Dills was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia Kendall Dills.
Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, James and Yvonne Dills of Marietta and Denny and Leeta Dills of Blairsville; Brothers, Gentry Dills and Bill Clement, both of Blairsville; grandson and his wife, Rex and Kelly Dills of Dallas, GA; granddaughter and her husband, Cynthia and Lester Darnell and grandsons, Gary Dills and Brian Dills, all of Blairsville and great grandchildren, Matthew Darnell, Katie Darnell, Justin Dills, Brandon Dills, Josh Dills and Brooke Dills.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Music will be provided by the A.C. Caylor Family. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Gary Dills, Brian Dills, Matthew Darnell, Justin Dills, Josh Dills and Lester Darnell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, July 27, 2009 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
