Zelma Dixon Petty

Mrs. Zelma Dixon Petty, age 88 of Monroe, GA, formerly of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Petty was born July 5, 1926 in Athens, GA, a daughter of the late Emory George Dixon and the late Pearlie Ann Lacount Dixon. She was a member of the Hiawassee United Methodist Church. Mrs Petty Loved her Lord, Jesus Christ and
was forever witnessing to family and friends about His love and mercy and all of the times that He had carried her through difficult times during her life. She loved her family and prayed for them constantly.

Mrs Petty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Newbern Petty, daughter, Charlain Craciun, and grandson, Timothy Lowry.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan Hardy of Blairsvile, GA and son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Beverly Petty of Harrisburg, AR. 7 grandchildren 15 great and 3 great great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 2:30 pm at the Chapel of theCochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Pastor Troy Shaw officiating. Music will provided by Christopher Casbarro. Interment will follow in Laurel Hills Memory Garden Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Chase Turpin, Mark McFall, Mike McFall, Freddie Bowman, Barry Hedden and Jason Allgood.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee of Hiawassee, Saturday, December 13, 2014, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
