Carolyn Kyle

June 21, 1948 — July 5, 2022

Gladys Carolyn Millsaps Kyle passed out of this world at her home on July 5th, 2022 at the age of 74 years. She was known and adored for her caring soul, her quick wit, and her loving support of family and friends. She was born in McCaysville, Georgia on June 21, 1948, to James Frank Millsaps and Minnie Bell (Welch) Millsaps. She grew up the youngest child in an ever-expanding family, taking care of (and becoming adored by) many of her nieces and nephews. She married Harry Kyle on July 3, 1968, and spent the next 54 years of marriage as wife and homemaker, also picking up many jobs along the way to make ends meet. Along the way she became the perfect mother to three boys, doing everything in her power to ensure their happiness and success. In later years she reconnected with many of her childhood friends and cousins for a surprisingly active social life. An avid seamstress, crafter, and genealogist, she also organized family reunions and enjoyed finding and sharing forgotten photographs. She was always fun, knowledgeable, smiling, and endearing. She was depended upon for advice and action by her entire extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Minnie Bell, and by her siblings Hoyt Millsaps, Willa Mae Bartczak, and Wanda Sue Ritchie. She is survived by her husband Harry, her sons Glen Kyle, Jeff Kyle, and Timothy Kyle, daughters-in-law Priscilla Kyle and Mary Kyle, six grandchildren (Brendan, James, Conner, Andrew, Cassidy Grace, and Augustus), and an extensive number of nieces and nephews in various degrees.

The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses at Pruitt Health for their devoted care and treatment during her illness. If you wish to do so, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the PruittCare Foundation or the charity of your choice.
