Cathy Nell Gaddis

Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville announces Cathy "Nana" Nell  Gaddis, age 67 of McCaysville, passed away January 28th, 2022, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Gaddis was born July 14th, 1954, to Wade and Nola Payne. She was a devoted member of McCaysville Church of God and attended Bible study every Thursday. She also taught Sunday school classes for many years at McCaysville Church of God and enjoyed every minute of it. Cathy "Nana" had a heart of gold and never let anyone feel unloved. She was a hard worker and worked at Levis factory for 26 years until it shut down, and has been working at Papas Pizza McCaysville since. She also loved to play with her grandchildren, giving them memories of the times they would play "monster" or "convenience store barbies." Her family and friends will deeply miss her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Nola Payne, sister, Dianne Queen, brothers, Raymond Payne and Charles Payne.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Crystal) Gaddis, her four grandchildren, Kelsie Gaddis, Caylee Gaddis, Kendall Gaddis, Chloe Gaddis, her sister, Ruth Ann Payne, brother, Danny Payne, and many nieces and nephews.

On February 1st, 2022, funeral services will be at 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Finch-Cochran Funeral Home. Officiating will be Mike Cole, and music will be by The McCaysville Church of God.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home.
