Clifford Virgil Norwood

Cliff Norwood, a long-time resident of Blue Ridge, Ga, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Cliff, age 66, was at Northside Cherokee Hospital when, sadly, COVID-19 claimed yet another casualty, God rest his soul. Cliff was born on January 5, 1955, in Newnan, Ga, to Virgil John and Nora Faye Norwood. Cliff graduated high school and joined the United States Army. Cliff proudly served our beautiful nation for ten years. He enjoyed sharing stories of his service and travels during that meaningful time of his life. Cliff began collecting coins when he was 15 and grew to love it so much that he continued collecting coins and currency for the next 51 years of his life. Cliff had many friends and followers that can attest to his quick-witted sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh. Cliff is preceded in death by his mother and father, Nora Faye and Virgil John Norwood; and his sister Melanie Granger.

Cliff is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Lori Norwood; son, Stephen Norwood of Warrenville, SC; son, Luke Norwood of Aiken, SC; daughter, Angela Norwood; daughter, Carla Austin of Williamson, Ga; daughter, Mindy Norwood; daughter, Tina Dixon of Aiken, SC; grandsons, Timmy and Tony Hill of Beech Island, SC; brother, Russell Norwood of Lynette, Ala; brother, Ken Norwood, of St Simon Island, GA; sister, Cindy Pierce of Waleska, GA.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home, 3911 Appalachian Hwy, Blue Ridge, Ga 30513, with Pastor Manuel Gunter officiating. Music by Angie Gunter. Burial will follow in Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery, Old Highway 76, Blue Ridge, GA.
