Daniel Horace McGinnis

Daniel Horace McGinnis, age 92 of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at his home. Mr. McGinnis was born March 19, 1928, in Cumming, GA to the late Grady William McGinnis and the late Carrie California Southerd McGinnis. Mr. McGinnis was a member of the Masonic Lodge #694 F&AM in Matt, GA and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed farming, gardening, tractors, building, playing banjo, and helping others. A member of Bethelview United Methodist Church, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Pearl McGinnis, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: wife, Martha G McGinnis, daughters, Robin (Scott Barfield) McGinnis, Deborah (Kenneth) Ingram, and Donna Martin; step-sons, Corey (Teresa) Brooks and Christopher Lancaster; step-daughter, Cheryl (Devin) Gable; sister, Christine Taylor; mother-in-law, Betty Fowler; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 3:00 pm at the Bethelview United Methodist Church in Cumming, GA with the Pastor Beverly Casstevens officiating. Eulogy by Terry Cowart. Interment will follow in Bethelview United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. McGinnis will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Pallbearers: Corey Brooks, Christopher Lancaster, Kasey Loggins, Jamie Brick, Richard McGinnis, and Jeff McGinnis.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Wednesday, February 24, 2021, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
