Evelyn Quinn

Mrs. Evelyn Hughes Quinn, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022. A lifelong resident of McCaysville, Georgia, Evelyn was born on September 29th, 1929, to the late Homer Joseph and Laura Leona Hughes.

Evelyn was married to Lon Quinn, Junior of Copperhill, Tennessee. He preceded her death on August 16th, 2006.

Survivors include her children; son Lon Schronce and Debbie Quinn, daughter Sheila and Andrew Shepard, and son Van and Cindy Quinn. Grandchildren include; granddaughter Ginger and Gabriel Montgomery, grandson Joseph and Debbie Quinn, granddaughter Nikki and Jonathon Sloan, grandson Adam and Sarah Quinn, granddaughter Caroline Quinn and Forrest Leary, granddaughter Laura Shepard, and seven great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include sister-in-law Katherine Hughes, brother Glen and Lois Hughes, sister-in-law Juanita Hughes, brother Jack and Velma Hughes, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Evelyn was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church in McCaysville, Georgia. Her favorite pastimes included visiting with friends and family, canning, cooking, and the harvest. In addition to raising her three children, Evelyn fulfilled her ambitions of starting a business, Quinn's Greenhouse, in 1973. The business successfully continues on today in its third generation of family ownership. 

Services for Evelyn will be held on Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 2:00 PM, at Williamstown United Methodist Church in McCaysville, Georgia. The family will receive condolences at the church following the services. The Family will recieve friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Sunday May 15, 2022.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Evelyn's honor to Williamstown United Methodist Church.
