Jerry R Barnes

Jerry R Barnes, age 87 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, in Blairsville, GA. Mr. Barnes was born January 3, 1935, in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Glen Barnes and the late Lestie Harper Barnes.  A member of New Prospect Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Barnes, step-son, Duane Neal, brother, Kenneth Barnes, sister, Ruby Hyatt, and nephew, Kenneth Barnes. Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.

Survivors include: step-daughter, Tammy Aaron, step-sons, Daniel (Lona) Neal and Donnie Neal, sister, Faye (William) Mashburn, brothers, Wendell Barnes and Jackie Barnes, sister, Louise Leakey, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services: Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Stuart officiating.  Music by: New Prospect Baptist Church. Interment will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers: Wendell Barnes, Merrell Long, Chris Neal, Robert Stacy, Jackie Barnes, and Terry Henson.  

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
