John Gonsalves, Jr.

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces the death and memorial services for Mr. John Gonsalves, Jr., age 87, of Hiawassee, who passed away on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Gonsalves was born in Massachusetts, a son of the late John Gonsalves, Sr., and Lena Dicensano Gonsalves. He had worked as an electrician. John was known for having a love of gardening, and he had the best gardens! He certainly had a green thumb. John was a member of Mountain Presbyterian Church in Blairsville.

Mr. Gonsalves will be greatly missed by his family members: loving wife, Lynn Gonsalves, of Hiawassee; son and daughter-in-law, James and Cheryl Gonsalves, of Lowell, Massachusetts; son, John Gonsalves, III, of Andover, Massachusetts; and brother, Joseph Gonsalves, of Somerset, Massachusetts; and a grandson, James Gonsalves.

Memorial services have been scheduled for Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Hiawassee, with Rev. Travis Adams officiating.

The family will meet with friends for one hour before the services begin.
