John Thomas Otwell

John Thomas Otwell, age 97 of Blue Ridge, GA went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Blue Ridge. Mr. Otwell was born September 12, 1924, in Atlanta, GA to the late Scott Otwell and the late Della Otwell. A member of Morganton Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Virginia Otwell, and brothers, Scott Otwell, Harold Otwell, and Dewey Attaway. Mr. Otwell was a WWII combat veteran of the US Navy.

Survivors include: son, Dwight Otwell and wife Susan LaCharite-Otwell; grandchildren, Jeff and wife Marie Otwell, Vince Otwell, and Vana and husband Mike Crayton; step-grandchild, DeEtte LaCharite; great-grandchildren, Nicole Shepherd and husband Jonathan, Leah Crayton, and Hattie Otwell; great-great-grandchildren, Connor Shepherd and Brody Shepherd; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services: Monday, February 14, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Morganton Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Kincaid officiating. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA.

Military Honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the Morganton Baptist Church of Morganton, GA on Monday, February 14, 2022, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm.
