Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Karen Patricia Cook, who was born on December 10, 1944 in Blairsville, Georgia and passed away on December 28, 2019 in Northeast Georgia Medical Hospital in Gainesville, Georgia after a brief illness.

Karen was the daughter of Beulah & Loman Barnes. She attended Union County School. She married Harold Cook on December 23, 1961 in Union County, Georgia. Karen loved to work in her multiple gardens, canning and selling, fishing, sewing, & taking care of her children and grandchildren. She helped her husband build the Union County Republican Party. Karen was a member and long time supporter of the Union County Lions Club. She will be so dearly missed by all that knew her. She had been preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Loman Barnes; Sister, Josephine Phillips, and Brothers, Vernon and Claude Barnes.

Survived by husband, Harold Cook, Children, Dean Cook, Michael Cook, & Kim Aragon, Sisters, Sue Ware & Maude Henson, Grandchildren: Katlyn Cook, Ashley Cook, Christopher Cook, and Rachel Rogers; Great Grandkids, Holden Harper & Milah Moreno.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday, January 1st, 2020, to be held at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville.

The family will meet with friends on Tuesday, December 31st, at Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
