The Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Mr. Kurt Lewis Hitt who passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in Canton, Georgia with his wife Kim at his side.
Kurt was born in Sinton, Texas on December 12,1948 to Durwald Belmont Hitt and Bertie Esther (McCandless) Hitt. Kurt was a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Engineering. He had a successful 35 year career in the commercial construction industry as a project manager and retired from Capform, Inc. in 2017.
Kurt leaves behind to cherish his memory: His loving wife of 41 years, Kim Hitt; brother, Glenn Hitt (Linda), sister, Vicki Kent (Paul), and many other family and friends.
Those who knew Kurt will remember him for his love of animals (especially his kitties!), adventurous sailing trips with "Captain Kurt" at the helm, his love of Blues music, and just enjoying time being with those he cared about. Kurt had a knack for recognizing the value and potential in those he encountered throughout his life. There was never a project or task that Kurt wasn't prepared to tackle and complete to perfection, and he was always willing to lend a hand to help. We will all miss Kurt's presence in our lives.
