Margie Johnson

The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Margie Johnson, age 88 of Hayesville who passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Union General Hospital.

Margie will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughters, Geraldine Davenport and Angie Hamilton; grandchildren, Danny Ledford, Charlene Barnard, Gary Ledford, Andi Ledford, Michael Ledford, Tammy Keys, Amber Smith, Jess Gibson, Jr., Nolan Parker, Junior Wade, Ricky Wade, Savannah Hamilton, Courtney Hamilton, Peggy Gibson, and Willie Joe Gibson. Also, sharing in her legacy are 24 great grandchildren and 29 great-great grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Dona Linda (Ledford) McFalls; her first husband, Winford Gibson; her second husband, Sammy Johnson; 5 children, Clara Jo Ledford, Jeanette Wade, Jess Gibson, William Gibson, and Willie Gibson; and grandchildren, Dalton Hamilton, Heath Gibson, and David Ledford.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Trotter and Rev. Matthew Roach officiating. Special Music will be presented by Matthew Roach. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentlemen selected to serve as pallbearers include: Steve Keys, Cordel Dye, Brett Hogsed, Grant Caldwell, Austin Keys, and Randy Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Wade, Jess Gibson, Jr., Bryton Dye, and Zach Smith.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1 pm until the service begins.
