Marie Morgan Brown

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mrs.Marie Morgan Brown, age 90, of Blairsville, who passed away on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 in Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, North Carolina.

Mrs. Brown was born in Union County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Lon Morgan and the late Dovie Brown Morgan.  Besides her parents, she had been preceded in death by her son, Ricky Brown, who passed away at age 32 in 1990; and her husband, Robert Brown, who passed away in 2007 after 53 years of marriage.  Mrs. Brown also was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Cline and Wilma Morgan; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Clinton Duvall.  Marie was a lifelong resident of Blairsville, and attended Revival Baptist Church, where she loved her church group.  She enjoyed cutting grass on her John Deere lawn mower, and going shopping and out to eat.  

Surviving family members include a nephew, Michael Duvall; a great nephew, Jeremy Duvall; a great niece, April Krieger; and a few cousins.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Sunday, January 30th, 2022 at 3:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Tommy Seay officiating.  Special music will be provided by Scott Lance and Heather and Emma Henderson.   Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband and son.  The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: James Harkins, Randy Ledford, Jeremy Duvall, Michael Duvall, Jon Krieger, and Ryan Ledford.

Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home on Sunday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
