Myrna Warren

February 11, 1946 — October 30, 2022

Myrna Josey Warren, 76, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at her home in Young Harris, GA.  She was born in Montezuma, GA on February 11, 1946, to Carey and Thelma Josey.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother, Ruby Josey, and brother Charles Josey.

 

She is survived by her husband, Neal Warren; son, Chris (Adie) Grey; niece, Paula Rosenberg and two children; cousins, Dennis (Joy) Lanning and Pat (Roy) Barrett; step children, Christy (Russell) Myers, John (Hydee) Warren; grandchildren, Sara (Jarrett) Epps, Maggie Myers, Joshua Myers; Sister-in-law Ila (Wallace) King, and family; and Brother-in-law Kenneth (Candyce) Warren, and family.  And her dear friend, Cheryl Harp of Reynolds, GA.

 

Myrna retired from the Macon County, GA DFACS after a career of 30 years as a Case Worker and Adoption Specialist.

 

She was a member of the Towns County Sheriff’s Auxilary, where she enjoyed volunteering  at concerts.  She was a member of the Top of Georgia Airstream Club, and served as the Loving Concerns Chairman.  She was a member of Movers and Shakers and made many friends there.  She enjoyed gardening, reading crafting and thrift stores.

 

She was a faithful member of the Hiawassee Church of Christ, where she will be fondly remembered for the very special handmade cards that she sent out to visitors and those who were sick or bereaved or who needed encouragement, and for the bookmarks with their words of wisdom that she made and handed out at services.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at the Hiawassee Church of Christ, 882 Sunnyside Road, Hiawassee, Georgia 30546, on Sunday, November 20th, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., with Minister Butch Jones.
