Nancy Moore Smith

Nancy Moore Smith, age 58, a devoted and cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, and daughter, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Originating from Winston-Salem, NC, she later became an established resident of Blue Ridge, GA. Mrs. Smith was born May 4, 1962 to Mr. Robert Moore and the late Mrs. Doris Wells Moore. She graduated in 1985 from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, later obtaining an MBA in Healthcare Administration in 2015. Her extensive career as a pharmacist spanned over 33 years, 15 of those years as a pharmacy director at Fannin Regional Hospital, and eventually became the founder of Moore Pharmaceutical Solutions, LLC.
Nancy’s greatest achievement was in the family she so passionately loved and lived for. Her two children, husband, step children, and beloved dog were her inspirations in life. Her vocation to motherhood became her ultimate joy. Nancy lived with unflinching devotion and passion in all the aspects of her life. Amongst many things, she was a gifted musician and creative artist, with a particular talent in photography. Her charity to her community was never ceasing, always looking to offer her abilities and resources in any way, big or small, if there was an opportunity to do so. When time allowed, Nancy frequented trips to state parks and local hiking venues, with the occasional family beach getaways, drawing a renewed connection to life around her. She enjoyed staying active with sports, particularly tennis, mountain biking, and swimming at Lake Blue Ridge- something she especially loved sharing with her children. Nancy was also an avid gardener; her favorite flowers were lilies and roses. Nancy’s relationship to God was of paramount importance, guiding her in all moments of her life.
Nancy was a woman of character, complexity, a model of fortitude, a pillar of light and love. She inspired many by her example. Always moving forward, always in motion, dancing with a fire in her heart. Nancy was an active member of our community and will forever be loved and missed not just by her family but by all those that were lucky enough to meet her throughout her life.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Hicks. Survivors include her beloved husband, Steve Smith; father Robert Moore, brother, Robert Moore, sister, Clara Stiers, son Dustin Easter, daughter, Bryn Easter, step-sons, Michael Smith, Marshall Smith and Patrick Smith, and her beloved Dudley Labrador Retriever, Jack.
Memorial service: Monday, April 26, 2021 at 3:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
