Shirley Chastain

Mrs. Shirley Jane Chastain, 85, of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, GA. Shirley was born January 6, 1937, in Murphy, NC to Luther Killian and Menice White Killian. She moved to Marietta at the age of sixteen and returned to Blairsville in 1971. In 1977 Shirley moved to Canton, Georgia, and returned home to Blairsville in 2011.

She was preceded in death by her husband R.J. Chastain; father, Luther Killian; mother, Menice White Killian; brother, Bill Killian; and brother, Bob Killian. She is survived by her sons Chris (Patsy) King, Max (Deborah) King, and Craig (Amy) King. Shirley is also survived by many grandchildren.

Mrs. Chastain worked as a Salesperson in the insurance industry. She dearly loved her family and her church, Fields Landing Methodist Church where she played the piano and led the choir as a member there. She enjoyed sewing, working in her flower garden, cooking, and most of all spending time with her dog Lulu.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Cherokee Memorial Park, Canton, GA. with Rev. Eddis Dockery officiating.
