Steve Allen Kelley

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Steve Allen  Kelley, age 61, of Blairsville, Georgia, who  passed away January 26, 2022, at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, Georgia.

Steve was born in Young Harris, Georgia, a son of the late Jasper and Mary Kelley. Steve was a lifelong resident of Blairsville and worked as a Housekeeper for Union General Hospital for 24 years (a job that he loved!)  until his retirement. He was always happy, with a bright smile on his face, and anyone who knew Steve could see how much of a special person he was. Steve never met anyone he didn't enjoy talking to and always seemed to enjoy making others smile. As well as his love for others, he also loved to travel and see different places; he enjoyed being able to see the world from his eyes and cherish each moment.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Mary Kelley, and sister Martha White.

He is survived by his brothers, Lewis Kelley (Melissa), Travis (Pam) Kelley, sisters, Patricia (Steve) Carver and Mona (Leslie) Groves, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family of Steve Kelley would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Chatuge Regional Hospital and the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home for being so kind during this difficult time. Thanks to all the family and friends for the thoughts and prayers.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 29, 2022, in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Music will be provided by the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Choir.   Interment will follow in at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery.  

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  Ian Kelley, Shane Kelley, Beau Kelley, Seth Kelley, Jay Merry, and Joey Swanson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
