Thomas Read Kimmel

Thomas Read Kimmel, age 80, of Cherry Log, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at his home in Cherry Log, GA. Tom was born May 19, 1942, in Elmhurst, IL to the late Harley Kimmel and the late Emily Read Kimmel. Tom was retired from a long career in the public health sector, including working for the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA, and in the World Health Organization's smallpox eradication program in Africa. 

Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Kimmel Duncan. He is survived by  his daughter and son-in-law Rachel Kimmel de Fuentes and Jesus Rafael Fuentes; his daughter and son-in-law, Isabel and Carmine Deluca; his partner Marilyn Williamson; his brother and sister-in-law, Leigh "Nick" and Kitty Lou Kimmel; his grandchildren, Emilia Fuentes, Thomas Fuentes, Giovanni Deluca, and Alessio Deluca; and numerous nieces and nephews.
