Werner Rudolf Eckstein

Werner Rudolf Eckstein passed away on December 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family; wife, Nancy, son, Fabian, daughter, Lisa Hodge, and daughter-in-law, Kaitlin. He is survived by his father, Rudolf, sister, Gaby, brother-in-law, Jurgen, and of course, Walter, Stanley, Hook, Piggie, and Floyd.  Werner is preceded in death by his mother, Erika, father-in-law, Fred, son-in-law, Jason, and brother-in-law, Mark. 

After meeting in high school and marrying in 1981, Werner and Nancy moved from Nuremberg, Germany to raise their family in Sarasota, FL. Werner spent many years in retail management, most recently at LTM Party and Mote Marine Aquarium.  Werner and Nancy moved to Hayesville, NC in the spring of 2020.

Werner loved all things nature, especially animals and bird watching.   He also loved music, poetry, dad jokes, and most of all, his family. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you go outside and enjoy nature, or donate to your local animal shelter.
